Yesterday, the Native CDFI Network (NCN) submitted to Congress a formal request letter signed by 38 Native CDFIs and other key stakeholder organizations requesting an increased FY 2024 appropriation for overall funding for the CDFI Fund and the Native American CDFI Assistance (NACA) Program specifically. NCN sent the letter to U.S. Senator Patty Murray and U.S. Representative Kay Granger, who chair the Senate and House Appropriations Committees.
You can read the joint sign-on letter here.
In the letter, NCN and the co-signatory organizations request a total of $366.48 million for the CDFI Fund program in the fiscal year (FY) 2024 appropriations process (which includes a $50 million request for the NACA Program). The letter also requests that Congress continue the CDFI Bond Guarantee Program with $500 million in guarantee authority.
Native CDFI leaders are encouraged to share this letter with their Congressional representatives to build support for the request.
