The NMTC Program Native Initiative is an effort to increase New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) investment in Federal Indian Reservations, Off-Reservation Trust Lands, Hawaiian Home Lands, and Alaska Native Village Statistical Areas, collectively referred to as NMTC Native Areas. Big Water Consulting and its partners were selected by the CDFI Fund to administer this project based on their extensive knowledge of the NMTC Program and their experience conducting trainings related to the NMTC Program for Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and Community Development Entities (CDEs).
Native Community Development Entities (CDEs), Native Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), sponsors of Native-owned projects, and other tribal entities are invited to attend the second New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Technical Workshop as part of the CDFI Fund’s NMTC Native Initiative. This workshop is appropriate for: 1) those who would like to form CDEs or have a CDE and would like to apply for allocation; 2) those who would like to accept and provide NMTC funding as a secondary CDE; and 3) those who would like to obtain financing for projects. The material will also be informative for CDFI / CDEs that would like to participate as leverage lenders.
