Advancing one of its top policy priorities for 2025, the Native CDFI Network invites all Native CDFIs as well as other key Indian Country stakeholder and partner organizations to join its sign-on letter to Congressional leadership requesting a $50 million appropriation for the CDFI Fund’s Native American CDFI Assistance (NACA) Program for FY 2026. The letter requests this funding amount for FY 2026 based on the considerable unmet capital needs of Native CDFIs, the significant return on investment that dollars provided to Native CDFIs produces in terms of economic benefits, and the growth in the number of Native CDFIs across the country.

NCN’s submission of this joint appropriation request letter early next week follows President Trump’s recent Executive Order targeting the CDFI Fund, which prompted NCN, Oweesta, and 84 co-signatory Native CDFIs and key partners to submit a joint letter to Treasury and key members of Congress opposing the order. It is critical that the joint appropriation request letter features an equally significant show of Indian Country support.

The deadline for organizations to sign on to the joint letter is EOB on Monday, March 24.
