The Native CDFI Network is proud to join Tribal Nations, inter-tribal organizations, and Native-serving nonprofits in signing a joint letter to Senate leadership urging continued support for Tribal energy self-determination. The letter emphasizes the critical role of clean energy tax credits and federal funding authorized under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in advancing Tribal economic development, energy resilience, and infrastructure investment.
As the Senate considers provisions that may scale back or eliminate key energy incentives, the letter calls for maintaining direct pay eligibility for Tribal governments and organizations, preserving unobligated DOE and Tribal Energy Loan Guarantee Program funds, and ensuring equitable access to clean energy resources for Indian Country.
