Stephen Highers brings over 10 years of experience in commercial and consumer lending, portfolio management, CDFI leadership, and public relations to the Cherokee Nation as the director of the Small Business Assistance Center. Stephen oversees the Cherokee Nation Economic Development Trust Authority, a certified Native CDFI, and the SBAC entrepreneurial development and business coaching programs which provide economic, business, community development and financing opportunities to Native Americans throughout northeast Oklahoma. Stephen is a Cherokee citizen and lives on the Cherokee Nation reservation in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
