The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the launch of two Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs) for $20 billion across two grant competitions under the historic $27 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF), an Inflation Reduction Act program central to President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda and environmental justice goals. Friday’s announcement builds on the June 28 announcement of the GGRF’s $7 billion Solar for All competition.

INFORMATIONAL WEBINAR (JULY 27): To educate its members, partners, and other key Indian Country stakeholders, the Native CDFI Network (NCN) will be holding an informational webinar providing details on the GGRF next Thursday, July 27 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Eastern time. To prepare attendees for that meeting, NCN will release a white paper next Wednesday, July 26 that provides a comprehensive overview of the three grant competitions and the potential funding opportunities they provide to Native CDFIs.

INTERESTED PARTNERS MEETING (AUGUST 3): NCN plans to apply as a “hub” applicant with a coalition of Native CDFI partners for the Clean Communities Investment Accelerator competition (see below) and also plans to create with partners an intertribal consortium to apply for the Solar for All competition. To discuss these applications, NCN will hold a meeting with interested Native CDFI and other partners on Thursday, August 3 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Eastern time.
