Economic Mobility Corps AmeriCorps Summer Program Webinar
Interested in building the capacity of your Native CDFI with an AmeriCorps Intern? Join us for a webinar featuring an initiative by Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), with support from Citi Foundation, that is building a more diverse CDFI workforce through a two-pronged human capital strategy to expose diverse candidates to the field of community finance.
This initiative works with partners to recruit and hire people from the communities CDFIs serve into an opportunity to work with a local CDFI as an AmeriCorps member. Members help expand CDFI capacity to provide critically needed products and services to their customers and communities. The program primarily focuses on members providing financial counseling services that help people gain increased financial knowledge – including entrepreneurship/microenterprise counseling and/or leads to people purchasing or remaining in safe, decent, healthy, affordable housing – and to raise the awareness of the services the CDFI provides to the community.
LISC AmeriCorps Economic Mobility Corps (EMC) and LISC Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Internship Programs have available positions for people to begin now and serve your organization through December 2024.
AmeriCorps EMC interns would:
- Earn a $9,000 stipend payable by bimonthly direct deposit directly from LISC – that’s $20/hour and fully provided by LISC!
- At the end of serving 450 hours, the person would receive the additional benefit of an $1,824 education award to pay down qualifying student loan debt or to continue education.
- Gain access to Credit Builder Alliances’ on-demand Credit As An Asset certification
- Receive ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development.

Helpful Tip: The ICS file is a universal calendar. If you use a Mac, click on the ICS file listed in the drop down. It may open your Mac or Apple calendar but it also goes to your downloads folder. You can now go to Outlook, click File > Open > On my Mac, and at the top of your downloads find the ICS file. The Outlook Import to calendar box will appear and click done.
